In the legal field, we are thankful for the opportunity to work with local families. In many of these families, the father is a valued and important member.
Father’s Day is quickly approaching, so we want to take the opportunity to encourage a local trip with your dad. Wichita has so much to offer, with many events aimed specifically at this holiday.
Here are just a few Father’s Day happenings around Wichita:
- Father’s Day at Botanica Wichita: Dads get in free, and admission for everyone else is five dollars. Enjoy some of nature’s brightest and beautiful plants, walk around one of the many gardens and greenhouses, or even take a stroll along the Woodland Walk. There’s also the Downing Children’s Garden there, but this is dad’s day, right?
- Father’s Day Special at the Museum of World Treasures: Take your dad to Old Town for an educational Father’s Day trip. All fathers receive free admission on June 16 when accompanied by a paying child. Explore and discover ancient history and visit the newest exhibit, Economics of Empire.
- Father’s Day Car Show: Bring the auto-enthusiast father to Sedgwick County Zoo to see a different kind of animal. See cool classic cars, antique autos, and vintage hot rods while exploring your favorite exhibits at the zoo. Fathers get in free when accompanied by a paying child.
- “Monty Python’s Spamalot” at the Music Theatre of Wichita: To end the day with some laughs, take your dad to the Tony Award-winning Best Musical. The play puts a witty spin on the legend of King Arthur. You can see the show at 8 p.m. for 24-60 dollars, or spend the afternoon at the theatre for the 2 p.m. matinee, just 22-52 dollars.
All of us at Lee Gurney hope you take the time to appreciate your dad this Father’s Day and spend a day out in Wichita.
