One of the best events in Wichita and a favorite event of several members of Lee Gurney, Riverfest offers exciting activities for everyone.
With the tagline “Disturbingly good times await,” you know that you and your family can engage in some serious fun at Riverfest. This nine-day event—from May 31 to June 8—kicks off the summer with a wide variety of outstanding events. Participate in just a few favorite activities or attend a marathon of excitement: the choice is yours.
Some of the events of the festival include:
Zipline
There is nothing quite like jumping from great heights to fly through the air, held up only by a harness.Daredevils and adventurers will love the zipline, which crosses the Arkansas River. The cost of a round trip (across the river and back) is $10 with a Riverfest button. The zipline will be offered all nine days of the festival at various times.
Kansas Health Foundation River Run
The largest road race in the state will have running enthusiasts of all ages lined up to participate. The race boasts a great route and timing during the race, with live music and a free finish line breakfast at the end. The awards ceremony will be held at WaterWalk Pavilion Stage. The race is set to take place on June 1 from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the WaterWalk Pavilion.
Sundown Parade
This year’s Sundown Parade asks you to “Let the good times flow!” This is a perfect event to kick back, relax, and enjoy amazing costumes and music. The parade is scheduled to take place on May 31 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in downtown Wichita.
